Safe running of Power plants

Recently I visited a power plant that was supplied by my earlier employer. Our scope in the unit was Limited to boiler supply and erection. After completion of Performance Guarantee test of unit 1 the developer company had become insolvent. The plant was shut down and no preservation methods applied. Few years back this plant was taken over by a private company which owns many power plants and steel plants. As on date many systems and infrastructure works need to be completed. There is no proper residential accommodation available and all staff stays in hostel. One year back I had the opportunity to visit another Power plant taken over by a company that has steel plants and smaller power plants. The financiers mandated that in absence of experience to run larger units, the company should engage employees from NTPC as advisers to run the plant.
